La Costaiola , once known as “ Costa d'Altare ,” was founded in 1938 by Luigi Carbone, who launched modern wine production. After World War II, leadership of the company passed to his son, Carlo Carbone , a key figure in the winery's development and success. An excellent winemaker and expert in Oltrepò Pavese wines, he earned the first major awards, bringing Costaiola wines to the attention of an increasingly wider and passionate audience.

After the war, his son Carlo Carbone expanded the company's reputation thanks to his skill as a winemaker and his profound knowledge of local wines. In the years that followed, his sons-in-law Giovanni Rossetti and Mario Scrivani continued the business, guiding the company towards constant innovation while respecting tradition.

Subsequently, Michele Rossetti, a graduate of the Alba School of Oenology, continued the family business, involving his cousin Simona Scrivani. Their collaboration resulted in the wines that still represent the company's identity today.

Today La Costaiola is run by Simona Scrivani with Letizia and Lucrezia Rossetti , Michele's daughters, who passionately continue the work of the previous generations.
